This site is still under construction. Please come back for new and
exciting updates.
Welcome to the Conservative Mennonite Homepage. This website is devoted to the preservation
of the Conservative Mennonite position. While this site is primarily concerned with Mennonite theology, practice, and history;
other Anabaptist groups will be examined.
Contrary to popular belief, Mennonites are not Amish. While these two groups have much in common, there
are also many differences. The Old Order Mennonites most closely resemble the Amish, because they still use the horse drawn
buggy for transportation, and do not use electricity. Mennonites and Amish share the same history, since both arose out of
the Anabaptist movement. The Amish split from the Mennonites over two hundred years ago, but the two still maintain a close
relationship.
Today, there are many Mennonite groups in the world. There are estimated to be around one million Mennonites
worldwide, with the largest concentrations of Mennonites being in the United States and Canada.
